The heart of the Cooper Center, the gymnasium features soaring wood beam ceilings and serves as a vibrant hub for physical activity. It hosts a range of classes and games, including pickleball, volleyball, badminton, ping pong, and more.
Multipurpose Room
This spacious, ground-floor community room is designed for flexibility and connection. It features a commercial kitchen, built-in performance area with AV capabilities, and doors that open onto a welcoming outdoor seating area. Accommodates 112 people at tables and up to 148 for lectures or performances.
Commercial Kitchen
Connected to the multipurpose room, this fully equipped kitchen includes a walk-in refrigerator and freezer and is designed for both food service and culinary classes or demonstrations.
Roof Deck
Stretching across the front of the third floor, this expansive rooftop deck offers beautiful views and versatile space. With colorful umbrellas, cozy seating, and an open area for fitness classes, it’s an ideal location for both relaxation and recreation
Walking Track
Suspended above the gym, this elevated track is lined with windows offering panoramic views of Newton. The two-lane track spans 1 mile every 16 laps, providing a bright and inspiring indoor walking experience.
Fitness Room
Flooded with natural light and direct access to the rooftop deck, this third-floor space hosts fitness classes of all kinds and offers the flexibility to move activities outdoors on pleasant days.
Game Room
This third-floor space is a social hotspot featuring two pool tables and card tables for casual games. With direct access to both the walking track and rooftop deck, it encourages both fun and friendship.
Reading Room
Located just inside the front entrance, the Reading Room is a warm and welcoming space with bookshelves, cozy seating around a fireplace, social tables, and public computers. A perfect blend of quiet reflection and social interaction.
Art Room
Bright and inviting, this second-floor space is designed for creativity at all levels. With flexible layouts and seating for 24, it supports a wide range of visual arts programming.
Ceramics Room
Adjacent to the Art Room, this specialized studio is equipped with pottery wheels, a pounding table, and two kilns—ideal for beginners and experienced ceramicists alike.
Meeting Room
Perched above the building’s front entrance, this conference room seats 8 and features two full walls of windows overlooking Newtonville, offering an inspiring space for collaboration and planning.
Activity Room #1
Adjacent to the gym, this medium-sized room offers a flexible setup ideal for workshops, fitness, and educational classes.

Situated between Activity Room #1 and the Meeting Room, this smaller space offers adaptable classroom-style layouts for intimate gatherings, classes, or discussion groups.
