Municipal Employee Homebuyer Assistance Program
90 Christina Street
Newton Highlands, MA 02461
This project was canceled in 2004 because no municipal employees applied who both met the income requirements and could qualify for a mortgage. All funds were transferred to the Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program.
Goals
Reduce purchase price to make 3 housing units affordable to buyers from moderate-income households who are full-time employees of the City of Newton, and protect affordability through perpetual deed restrictions.
Funding
| $378,000 | CPA funds appropriated (community housing) |
| $376,750 | CPA funds transferred to Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program |
| $1,250 | Total CP funds spent, on CPC-required appraisal |
