The next Commission on Disability (COD) meeting is Monday, December 8th, 2025.

Purpose and Mission

The Commission on Disability's mission is to foster equal access to community life and activities for people with disabilities. Through education and advocacy, the Commission works to raise awareness about the needs and rights of people with disabilities and the importance of increased accessibility to programs, housing, and facilities in municipal and commercial buildings, and other public entities.

ADA Coordinator

The COD does not help with reasonable accommodations requests from persons with disabilities to access City meetings, programs, and activities. Please contact the City's ADA Coordinator instead. More information on the ADA Coordinator can be found here

The Newton Commission On Disability typically meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm.
