Newton Artful Pianos 2026: Call for Artists Now Open

Artists are invited to transform donated pianos into vibrant works of public art as part of Newton Artful Pianos 2026. This citywide initiative blends visual art and music, placing beautifully painted pianos in outdoor public spaces for the community to enjoy — and even play.

Whether you’re an experienced public artist or trying your first large-scale project, this is a joyful, high-visibility opportunity to share your creativity and be part of a community celebration of art and sound.

• Open to artists of all levels (including high school students)
•  Pianos displayed outdoors throughout Newton
•  $500 artist stipend
•  Applications due February 27, 2026
