Nature Art for grades 2 - 6

Nature Art week is designed to encourage creativity and fun. Participants will craft nature inspired projects using natural materials found at the park along with traditional summer camp projects along side their friends.  

Orienteering for grades 2-7

Join Navigation Games to learn orienteering skills like staying within boundaries, reading a map, finding things in order, & decision making skills to locate things in the fastest time.  This scavenger hunt-like activity will keep kids moving and exploring the great outdoors.

Bird Watching/Bird Study for grades 2-7

Get ready to explore Newton’s birding hotspot of Nahanton Park and make new friends along the way. This program will enable participants to get out discover more about birds, go birding, learn about bird ecology and identification, and participate in a conservation project.

Paddling Camp for grades 3 - 8 

Join Boating in Boston for 2 days of paddleboarding and 2 days of kayaking. Learn proper paddling strokes and safety on the water. While the focus of each day is on exploration and paddling techniques, there will be plenty of time for playing games, and FUN! 

Archery for grades 3-8

Join On the Mark Archery to learn traditional archery.  Set goals and develop patience to achieve results on and off the range! Perfect for individuals who are looking for an alternative sport that allows them to advance at their own pace. All equipment provided. 

Wilderness Survival for Kids for grades 2-6

Do you know how to survive in the wild (or maybe your own backyard)?  Learn how to set up or improvise shelter, what to do if you get lost, how to help an injured friend, how to cook without a kitchen, and different ways to build a fire.
