CIT programs are for youth going into 8th - 11th grade. CIT’s participate in trainings to learn how to become a great counselor and develop skills in activity planning, child development, effective leadership styles and more. The CIT program allows youth to gain valuable work experience and explore future career possibilities as they work with the campers and staff at their specific camp to further develop their skills.

First Year CIT's are new to being a CIT at a Newton Parks and Recreation Camp.  First Year CIT's can participate in 1 first year CIT session per camp. 

Returning CIT's have participated in a CIT session in a previous summer at a Newton Parks and Recreation camp.  Returning CIT's can participate in one or both sessions.  Please note - for Camp Echo Bridge, returning CIT's must have completed the program at Camp Echo Bridge in a previous summer and can only do 1 session.

 At Albemarle Acres  - runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.   

First Year CIT's

Session 1:  July 6 - July 17

Session 2:  July 20 - July 31

Session 2:  August 3 – August 14   

Returning CIT's

Session 1:  July 6 - July 24           

Session 2:  July 27 – August 14 

 At Camp Echo Bridge  - runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.     

CIT's are limited to participating in 1 session at Camp Echo Bridge.

New CIT's - have never completed a CIT session at Camp Echo Bridge

At Outdoor Adventure - runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm with Friday as a rain makeup day.

The CIT program at Outdoor Adventure is an outdoor nature program and each 2 week session and is for both first year and returning CIT's.
