As of January 1, 2025 The Hartford is the City's Life Insurance carrier. Members previously enrolled in a Guardian Life Insurance policy have been automatically transferred with no changes to their basic and supplemental benefit level.

A few key notes:

• Basic Life/AD&D insurance = $5,000 benefit with shared employer and employee contribution of premium
• Supplemental Life/AD&D insurance = employees must enroll in the Basic Life/AD&D to be eligible for Supplemental Life/AD&D. Employees can purchase in $10,000 increments up to $150,000 or choose to keep their existing coverage. 

Please make sure your beneficiary form is up to date. We strongly encourage you to complete a beneficiary form to reflect your wishes. Please submit to Human Resources.
