The City of Newton is excited to offer Vision Insurance.

 In partnership with Altus Vision, enrolled employees - and as of January 1, 2026 enrolled retirees - will be able to take advantage of strong benefits and member-focused service.

Vision care Benefits include:

• $175 allowance for a wide selection of frames or contact lenses once every 12 months
• WellVision Exam every 12 months with just a $10 copay
• Laser Vision Correction average savings of 15%–20%
• VSP Essential Medical Eye Care Program for members with diabetes
• Exclusive member extras, including discounts on hearing aids through TruHearing
• and more!

Monthly Premiums:

• Individual employee/retiree: $8.25
• Employee/retiree + Spouse: $16.50
• Employee/retiree + Child(ren): $17.33
• Family (Employee/retiree, Spouse, and Child(ren): $23.93

Additionally, the VSP Vision Savings Pass will be available to all eligible employees and retirees, even if they don’t enroll in plan coverage. This is not an insurance plan, but a discount program offering reduced fees on eligible services, such as eye exams, frames and lenses, when you visit a VSP network provider.

How to use the VSP Vision Saving Pass:

1. Find a participating VSP network doctor at vsp.com or call 800‑877‑7195.
2. Tell your provider you have a VSP Vision Savings Pass to receive instant discounts.
3. Members pay providers directly at the discounted rate.
4. Use your pass again anytime for materials—there’s no limit on savings for eyewear during the year.
