National Recovery Month, September 2025
Join us for a special Newton screening of Recovery City, an award-winning documentary exploring addiction and recovery through the stories of four women in Worcester, MA.
The event includes a 15-minute opioid overdose response and naloxone training, followed by a discussion with filmmaker Lisa Olivieri, featured participants, and experts from Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Presented in partnership with Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton Health & Human Services, Newton Coalition for Community Wellness, and the Newton Free Library.
*Registration encouraged; walk-ins welcome.*
Celebration of Queer Culture (CQC), June 2025

Newton CCW Community Resource Night: Overdose Prevention
On November 29th, the Newton Coalition for Community Wellness hosted a Community Resource Night focused on overdose prevention. Local resources and addiction specialists gathered at St. Mary's Episcopal Church for a night of information sharing, harm reduction training and distribution, and a community vigil to honor loved ones.
