The Programs and Services Committee reviews items relating to the Human Services Department, Library, Recreation Department, Law Department (except for claims), Veterans’ Services Department, Licensing Commission, City Clerk, Clerk of the Council, Rules of the Council, Election Commission, Health Department, Newton Public Schools, Community Schools, Information Technology, Newton Housing Authority, Older Adult Services Department; as well as matters relating to the inter-relationship of the School Committee and Newton Public Schools with other areas of City government.
