The City of Newton has several ways for all of us to be connected and find
information about what’s going on in our community and even about water leaks
in your home.

Code Red Emergency Notifications
Register to receive Code Red Emergency notifications on your landline, cell
phone or via text message. We send Code Reds about weather and other
emergencies, utilities outages, severe traffic tie-ups and more.Sign up at

Newton 311
Send requests for service to the City via Newton 311 on your computer or on
your smartphone.
Through Newton 311, you can ask for a pothole to be filled, for an overflowing
trash bin to be emptied, for a dead animal in a street to be picked up, for a
damaged trash/recycling cart to be repaired, for a knocked down sign to be fixed,
for a hornet nest in a city tree to be cleared, for a downed tree limb to be
removed, for a catch basin to be cleaned, for a noisy manhole cover to be reset,
and much more. (In addition, Newton 311 is an access point for paying your bills
to City of Newton.)
Newton 311 is pretty simple to use.
On your cell phone, to get started download the free Newton 311 app, then set up
an account and start using the app today. (Go ahead and delete the old app if
you still have that on your phone.)
You can also access Newton 311 on your computer by going to the City of
Newton website at newtonma.gov and clicking on the Newton 311 tab on the
opening page.
Our Newton Customer Service staff is also a phone call away and happy to
answer questions and enter requests for you. They can be reached Monday
through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 617-796-1000.
Water Leaks - Neptune 360 Customer Portal
Use a customer portal to monitor your water consumption and detect leaks
quickly.
The customer portal, called Neptune 360, is user-friendly with useful charts and
graphs and the ability to ask for alerts if your water usage increases dramatically,
possibly due to a leak.
Activate your City of Newton Neptune 360 portal account by going
to newtonma.my360-app.com
Have your water bill handy when you sign up. You will need your account number
(and your full name or street address).
Recycle Right Newton App
Not sure whether trash and recycling are collected on Patriot’s Day? Wondering
whether something goes in the blue cart or the green? The Recycle Right Newton
app has the answer to those questions and more.
Download the free app in the App Store or Google Play. No smartphone? No
problem. Use the website version on the Sustainable Materials Management
page at newtonma. gov here.
