The Massachusetts DOT invites you to a public information meeting for the Needham-Wellesley Route 128 Add-a-Lane Project: Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Newton City Hall War Memorial Auditorium.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of the project’s progress over the past several months and a preview of coming operations during the fall of 2016 particularly with regard to traffic impacts associated with upcoming construction operations at the I-95/Route 9 interchange and the I-95/Highland Avenue interchange. The meeting will also give audience members the opportunity to ask questions of MassDOT’s construction team. Following the presentation, public involvement staff will facilitate a question-and-answer session.
The goal of the Needham-Wellesley Route 128 Add-a-Lane Project is to increase safety on I-95 through the roadway’s widening thereby allowing use of the breakdown lane for its intended purpose rather than a peak-hour travel lane. The project also reconstructs three bridges and introduces bicycle accommodations to two. Drainage improvements and sound walls are also included. The project’s limits of work run for 3.5 miles along I-95 between the Kendrick Street interchange and the Route 9 interchange.
