Free Admission during Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day on September 22

Jackson Homestead, Durant-Kenrick House participate in national program

Historic Newton's two museums, the Jackson Homestead and the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds, will open free of charge on Saturday, September 22 as part of Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day. The national day honors the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution's musems in Washington, DC, which offer free admission every day.

Museum Day represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity, and inclusion. Over 250,000 people downloaded tickets to last year's event. The theme of this year's Museum Day is Women Making History, honoring women in society who are trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation, and culture.

The museum ticket, which provides free admission for two, is available for download here. Limit: one ticket per household.
