Mayor Setti Warren invites veterans to the monthly Veterans Service Center Open House from 5:30-7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, December 1, which will be held at the Veterans Service Center, 345 Walnut Street, Newtonville.
The featured speaker will be Tony Massarotti, a highly-regarded and well known sportswriter and sports broadcaster in Massachusetts. For more than fifteen years, Tony has covered the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics as a columnist and reporter for the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe and Tony is currently the co-host of Felger and Massarotti, a sports talk program broadcast on 98.5 The Sports Hub on WBZ FM.
Tony has interviewed all the top athletes on Boston’s professional sports teams and it should be a fun evening listening to his insights and hearing his stories. During the event, refreshments will be provided, we will hold a free raffle, and service providers will be present, including representatives from the VA and the Veterans Upward Bound Program.
If veterans are unable to attend the December 1 event, they may drop in at the Veterans Service Center on a weekday to ask questions or to receive information. The Center, at 345 Walnut Street, is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30-3:30 p.m., on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 7:30-12:30 p.m.
The Center provides veterans of all ages and branches of the service a place to congregate, socialize, and access a wide range of services including employment, education, housing, financial, legal, health, and childcare. Anyone with questions about benefits or who needs more information about activities, should please call or email Seth Bai, Director of Veterans’ Services, 617-796-1092 or email@example.com.
