LED Street Light Pilot Underway
May 19, 2013  The Transporation Division recently installed approximately 24 new Light-Emitting Diode (LED) corba-head fixtures along Comm. Ave, Walnut and Homer Street as part of a pilot project. In addition, there will be four new decorative LED fixtures installed at the Homer Street and Comm. Ave entrance to City Hall as part of the program. The decorative fixture at the intersection of Comm. Ave and Walnut near the marathon statue is also an LED fixture.

Newton Highlands Electronic Parking Meter Pilot Program Extended

The electronic parking meter pilot program in Newton Highlands has been extended for another 90 days. Please take a moment to complete the survey and give us your feedback.



2013 Pavement Marking Schedule - Phase I
May 19, 2013  Beginning this month the Transportation Division will be repainting several streets including centerline, edgeline, bike lanes, symbols, stop lines and crosswalks (See attached schedule). This program will continue throughout the summer months and will include both short-term (i.e. paint) and long-term (epoxy) markings. The division will also be using reflective tape for stop lines, crosswalks and symbols at many locations.
