Newton Cares For Soldiers

For the City Hall Open House on December 31 we are collecting the following items:

Cell Phones for Soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans. Newton City Hall is an official drop site for used cell phones that are turned into calling minutes for our troops. Look for the collection box marked "Cell Phones for Soldiers"

Annual "Care Package" Collection drive


Annual "Care Package" Collection drive for clothing, toiletries, snack foods and games to be sent to our soldiers serving overseas, please bring items to Newton City Hall Room 209 on Tuesday, December 31 from 1:30-3:30pm.

This is part of the Mayor's New Year's Eve Open House and Inaugural Celebration.

Volunteers will assemble packages and ship.

Check their website: carepacks.org. You can also bring along a tax-deductive contribution, made payable to CarePacks, Inc.

The Mayor's Office will also accept donations if you are unable to come on Dec. 31.
