Needs Assessment Presentations
On Tuesday, May 6th, the Newton Planning and Development Department gave a presentation at the Newton Senior Center on the results of the data analysis for the Needs Assessment of the FY16-20 Consolidated Plan. Click this text to view the presentation. This event marked the beginning of the public engagement portion of the Needs Assessment. The schedule of events is listed above.

Below are presentations that have been given at various Needs Assessment events and meetings with Advisory Committees.

Consolidated Plan Kick-off
Mayor Warren held an important event on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Newton North High School Cafeteria regarding the use of federal funds for community development in preparation for a new Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The Plan assesses community development and housing needs for Newton residents with low to moderate incomes and identifies goals and strategies to meet those needs.  The event was an opportunity for attendees to hear more about the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development federal programs in which the City participates, discuss ways to foster successful outcomes for individuals and families through the use of available funds, and learn how they can be involved in the development of this community-wide plan. The presentation and information sheet from this event are both linked and in the Resources section.  This event was the first of many that will address accessible public places, affordable housing, human services, neighborhood  improvements, and economic development.

Survey
The City is conducting a survey as part of the Needs Assessment to get input from the community.  Please take a few minutes to share your input on needs in Newton. Click here to access the survey
