Downpayment/Closing Cost Assistance Available!
The City of Newton is making financial assistance available to First-Time Homebuyers through its Downpayment/Closing Cost Assistance Program.
Applications are currently being accepted from applicants who are applying to purchase a unit through the Court Street Affordable Housing Lottery. This application will be used to determine “preliminary eligibility” for financial assistance through the Program; only applicants selected to purchase a unit through the Court Street Affordable Housing Lottery will be eligible for assistance through the Program.
Applicants applying for downpayment assistance through the Program must complete and submit the application to the City of Newton by 5:00 p.m. on April 14, 2017 to be eligible for downpayment assistance.

SEB LLC is accepting applications for nine affordable condominium units on Court Street in Newtonville. The project includes two 1-Bedroom affordable units, six 2-Bedroom affordable units and one 3-Bedroom affordable unit. These units will be awarded through a lottery. Applications for the lottery must be received by May 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. to be eligible.
Please note, the lottery is being handled by the lottery agent and not the City of Newton.
Sales Prices (do not change based on applicant’s income):
$223,900 for a 3BR condo (w/ $95/mo condo fees)
$201,300 for a 2BR condo (w/ $87/mo condo fees)
$178,600 for a 1BR condo (w/ $80/mo condo fees)
Maximum Household Income Limits: $51,150 (1 person), $58,450 (2 people), $65,750 (3 people), $73,050 (4 people), $78,900 (5 people), $84,750 (6 people)
You must include all income and asset documentation as directed with this application.
