Acquire last private parcel on this road as an addition to the Flowed Meadow Conservation Area, and clear small house, debris, etc. from the site.

$358,600 CPA funds appropriated & spent (open space)
including $3,600 for legal services from Newton Law Dept.
$41,700 from Newton capital stabilization fund, for demolition costs
$403,900 total project cost
 $7,500 not included in totals above; CPA funds appropriated for a grant to the Newton Conservators, for holding the required conservation restriction

Boardwalk Design

This project was canceled in August 2011.

goals:

Design possible boardwalk along border between wetland and landfill, from Lexington to Wabasso Street, and new entrance gateway on Lexington Street.

Path Improvements

Create new signage and benches and improve pedestrian path connecting Auburndale Park to the new Flowed Meadow Conservation Area; close a former path to preserve wetland and wildlife habitat.
