Municipal Employee Homebuyer Assistance Program

This project was canceled in 2004 because no municipal employees applied who both met the income requirements and could qualify for a mortgage. All funds were transferred to the Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program.

Reduce purchase price to make 3 housing units affordable to buyers from moderate-income households who are full-time employees of the City of Newton, and protect affordability through perpetual deed restrictions.

$378,000 CPA funds appropriated (community housing)
$376,750 CPA funds transfered to Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program
$1,250 total CP funds spent, on CPC-required appraisal
