Irrigate the City's Bowen Field, resolve drainage problems and create new recreational space on the playground of Bowen School.

The Bowen Park Project

(Bowen Elementary School) 


Create and preserve recreational space behind Bowen School, including installation of a new drainage system and new planters, play equipment, basketball court, and ampitheatre. A small amount of funding was used to remove invasive vegetation in woodland abutting the playground.


$205,000 CPA funds appropriated for Bowen School Playground improvements
$10,155 unspent funds returned
$194,845 total CP funds spent (all recreation)
Note: The Bowen PTO originally committed to raise $50,000 toward this project and actually raised $38,000. Project manager in the Dept. of Public Works reports PTO funds were not ultimately needed for this project and were spent to benefit the school in other ways.
