The city of Newton holds two seasonal farmers' markets, one on Saturdays in West Newton Square from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and the other on Tuesdays in Cold Spring Park from 1:30 - 6 pm. Both markets run for 16 weeks. For the 2019 season, the Saturday market opens June 22 and closes October 5, while the Tuesday market opens July 9 and closes October 22. Markets are held rain or shine.

Tuesday Market at Cold Spring Park – A Foodie’s Fantasy
In 2019 we're putting together our "Fantasy Team" at Tuesday's Cold Spring Park market, making it a must visit destination for local foodies. Complementing a large group of Massachusetts farmers anchoring this market is a select group of specialty food vendors, that are creating a buzz on the local food scene. Chef demonstrations, food talks, chef shopping tours, and a classical and jazz concert schedule help position Cold Spring as a rain or shine destination for those who love local food.
Saturday Market at West Newton Square – Something for Everyone
Our Saturday morning West Newton markets are not-to-be-missed. By holding themed events like Craft Beer Tastings, a Gardening in the Garden City sale, Flea Markets, and a Dog Days of Summer Party, this market pulls shoppers from across the greater Boston area, including families, college students, and those with special interests. Weekly entertainment features local rock and roll bands.
Helping Our Vendors Market their Products & Services
We promote our markets and vendors’ offerings through our social media outreach, ads, and a weekly Constant Contact market newsletter. The customized social media content we create can be leveraged by our vendors to help increase awareness of their products and services. This year we are holding a special pre-season Farmers' Market preview day on Sunday June 9 at Newton's City Hall, where we will invite the community to meet all of our 2019 market vendors.
Vendor Application Process
Additional Documents Required from Accepted Vendors
Once accepted, all vendors are required to submit certificates of insurance. Additional documentation is required as follows:
* W9 forms are required from vendors who wish to participate in the market’s program where shoppers purchase wooden tokens at the manager’s booth with a credit card, and then use these tokens to purchase vendor’s products. Vendors return tokens to the market manager at the end of the market and are reimbursed for purchases later in the market season. W9 forms are also required from vendors whose products are eligible to be purchased under SNAP but do not have a point of sale terminal.
Standard Vendors pay $45 per market for each 10' x 10' space. Smaller specialty vendors (start up businesses, providing limited products & offering items not consumed on a weekly basis) are charged $30 for a 10' x 10' space. Specialty vendors are not frequent market participants. Newton-based non-profit organizations can participate at no charge, depending upon space availability.
