Newton Urban Forestry Tree Care Specialists Needed
The City of Newton is seeking experienced tree care workers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals working to rebuild Newton’s Urban Forestry program. Newton Urban Forestry focuses on responding to the needs of our customers and ensuring safety for its workers and the public. We expect efficiency, quality and professionalism. Successful candidate will have:
--Minimum of 5 years experience in all phases of arboriculture
--Class B or higher driver’s license with a clean driving record
--Excellent communication and customer service skills
--Solid experience operating bucket trucks and Log Loaders
--Exceptional attention to detail and quality
--Ability to work well with coworkers and the public
--Ability to work efficiently and safely
--Professional attitude with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm
Responsibilities include:
--Performing work outdoors with frequent exposure to adverse weather, heights, and utility lines
--Operate all equipment typically found in the arboriculture industry including bucket trucks, log loaders, chippers, stump grinders and chainsaws
--Respond to tree related emergencies outside of normal work hours
--Perform preventative and basic maintenance to all equipment used
--Work closely and interact politely and professionally with City employees and the general public
--Properly prune, remove, treat and care for all city trees in a safe efficient manner
--Daily track and record work activities and equipment usage
--Participate in all division provided training
