Reserving a Picnic Area

Auburndale Cove Picnic Permits:

The Parks and Recreation Department issues permits for picnics at the Auburndale Cove, West Pine Street, Auburndale. The "cove" is situated along the scenic Charles River.

Picnic areas will accommodate groups of up to 50 or 100 persons. Permits are issued to Newton Residents Only, and may be obtained for weekdays and weekends, Memorial Day through Labor Day, or weekends only in April, May and September.

The use of alcohol is not permitted at the Auburndale Cove unless a group wishes to put the alcohol for sale to its users. Additionally, catering, the use of propane, are not allowed without the specialty use permit and specific approval of the various departments that would be involved. No Food Trucks Allowed.
