|Position Description:||Responsible for processing City revenue receipts at tax and utility collection windows. Serves as a rotating teller to ensure optimal window coverage. This includes the handling and recording of payments, receipt issuance, account balancing and at discretion of supervisor perform essential tasks for department.|
Collects and posts revenue receipts and delinquent taxes from taxpayers and City departments.
Balances and reconciles daily receipts and prepares bank deposits. Posts betterment payments, deferral tax accounts and notifies Assessor's Office of receipts.
Sets up Teller cash drawers. Replenishes cash as necessitated by balances. Ensure Tellers have adequate funds to properly service customers.
May be required to open or close main and working vaults.
Handles customer transactions in person and assists in customer account balance verifications, the processing or payments for various tax bills, water and sewer use fees. Maintains customer confidentiality.
Provide customer service to residents in person and via phone with clear, succinct answers to questions and clear explanation of city bills and procedures.
Follows and adheres to department, City and government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assists with additional operation duties including short and long term projects as they arise.
|Position Qualifications:||Associate degree and one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of cash receipts, basic accounting, clerical practices, office procedures, and proficient in MS Office products. Must be well organized with attention to detail and have ability to problem solve. Team player with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment. Ability to provide excellent customer service skills in person and over phone.
