Who Tells Your Story? What Will You Leave Behind?

"Eyes of History: Archives Tell Your Story" Exhibit Explores How History is Documented

Historic Newton's exhibition, Eyes of History: Archives Tell Your Story, tells stories from items in our archives, layering cultural and landscape history, and stories of Newton people, some well-known, others who would be lost to history had we not kept their memory alive. Highlights include letters between a mother and son during the Civil War, a painting attributed to Harriet Beecher Stowe, and a scrapbook from 1887. The exhibit asks viewers to reflect on their place in history, what they will leave behind, and how researchers 100 years from now will discover those stories. The exhibit is open through May 2017 during regular museum hours at the Jackson Homestead and Museum, 527 Washington Street.
