We have made a new collaboration with Newton Community Partnerships for Children and Families! We hosted their STEM program in our Ed center through a four week session. Parents and children learned about ways to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with everyday objects in the house. Families built a bridge together, won prizes for estimating, and observed effects of air pressure on liquids. Best of all, parents went home with lists of many more ideas of how to continue the exploration at home.
Newton Community Partnerships for Children and Families helps qualified Newton families connect to resources such as financial assistance, education groups and other supports promoting optimal child development. They also hold literacy events, workshops for parents, Dads' groups, playgroups and more. For more information go to: http://www.newton.k12.ma.us/Page/1166
