Historic Newton Presents An Evening with Livingston Taylor -- SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 7:30 p.m.

Livingston Taylor picked up his first guitar at the age of thirteen. Thus began a career that has spanned more than forty years and encompassed performance, songwriting and teaching, and has featured Top Forty Hits recorded by Livingston and his brother James Taylor.

Livingston is a full professor at the Berklee School of Music where he mentors a highly talented group of emerging artists called "New Noise". Of this group, Chelsea Berry will join Livingston on stage for a few numbers on November 16. For more about the artist, go to

An Evening with Livingston Taylor is a fundraiser for the interactive exhibits at Historic Newton's new museum and education center, the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds, which is set to open in the new year. Historic Newton will also use proceeds to establish nursery and exhibition gardens. The new museum will explore issues of land, liberty and leadership by looking at the three distinguished families who lived and worked there over three centuries.
