Upcoming Programs

Historic Newton offers a wide range of events that tell our community's story within the larger narrative of American history. Join us for lectures, tours, workshops, and more. Currently our events are held on Zoom unless otherwise indicated. We hope to see you soon.

Newton Talks Oral History

Our oral history program has recorded more than 50 people sharing their memories of Newton. Topics include community activism, immigration, military service, and growing up in Newton. The program is a collaboration between Historic Newton, the Newton Free Library, and the Newton Senior Center.

  On-Line Exhibits
Take a tour of on-line exhibits on topics that connect with Newton history. From the story of the Underground Railroad to a look at immigration in Hyphenated Origins, our exhibits tell you more about our community. We also show special items from our collection, including an 1887 scrapbook showing the fashion and decor of that period in exquisite detail.

Storytime Online

Each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., we present a story for young children ages birth through 3 and a related crafts project that you can do at home. Join us on our Facebook page for a fun family activity.
