The Hobart Estates: Commonwealth Avenue and an Olmsted Subdivision

The Olmsted-designed subdivision centered on Hobart Road was developed in conjunction with the Newton Boulevard (now called Commonwealth Avenue).  Learn about the suburbanization of Newton, suburban landscape design, and the evolution of domestic architecture on this tour led by Historic Newton intern Tom McGinley.
