Other summer opportunities to keep your middle schooler busy

For some families summer planning is especially stressful. While Newton’s Health and Human Services department does not have any financial scholarships to help offset the cost of programs, we do have staff available to discuss your specific circumstances and help you develop a plan for your family. We are able to explore youth program options with you as well as discuss other needs you might have around food, safety, and well-being that can have particular challenges during the summer months. If you would like to set up an appointment with a city of Newton social worker please call 617-796-1420.

How your child spends their time when they are not in school can be an essential part of your child's educational and social/emotional learning. Research has shown the value of after school programs and activities and here in Newton, we are lucky enough to have numerous high quality out of school time programs.

Below you'll find information on programs, financial aid information and links to help you find an after school opportunity for your middle schooler!
