Open Monday-Saturday from 7:30am-2:30pm*; Closed on Sundays and Holidays. 
City of Newton residents only; for material generated from Newton residences, no commerical materials or commercial vehicles.
Proof of Newton, MA residency required.

Accepted Materials

Paint Exchange Program runs from mid-May through mid-October, and is open Monday through Friday (7:30am-2:30pm) We accept clean, useable latex paint, oil paint and paint products ONLY. Cans must be less than 3 years old and more than half full.  Old latex paint can be dried up and disposed of safely with your trash. Oil-based paints should be brought to a household hazardous waste collection day

Old electronic items that are not in working condition are not currently accepted at the Rumford Resource Recovery Center - they will be accepted at Best Buy at no cost (TVs are accepted with a fee). Used electronic devices in working order can be donated to Goodwill at the Rumford Resource Recovery Center. Newton residents can arrange for old TVs and large appliances to be picked up curbside: click here for the schedule and a list of what's accepted.

*Weather Related Closing May Occur Unexpectedly: Please call ahead when temperatures exceed 90 degrees or if there has been a heavy snow or rain storm. Rain and thunderstorms often cause flooding at Rumford Ave. The safety of our employees is our main concern.
