Yard Waste (along with trash and recycling carts) must be at curb no later than 7AM on your collection day or as early as 4PM the day before. Routes can change at any time and so can your pickup time.

Yard Waste is not collected in the Winter season.
Yard Waste cannot be collected as trash as per the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) regulations (310 CMR 19.017)

Place in paper yard waste bags or barrel labeled with “YARD WASTE ONLY” labels. (Stickers available at City Hall Customer Service Center)
Include grass clippings, tree leaves, tree and shrub prunings , wood chips, small vegetable and flower plants, and other vegetative matter.
Tie branches and limbs (6” or less in diameter) in bundles that are less than 4ft long and 3ft in diameter with rope or twine.
Consider composting at home!

No plastic bags.
Branches must not protrude from barrel
Bag or barrel must not exceed 50 gallons or 50 pounds.
Bundle must not exceed 50 pounds.
Do not use yard waste bags for trash.
Do not use wire to bundle.
No tree stumps or branches greater than 6” in diameter (please call a private hauler).
No dirt, sand, rocks, asphalt, brick or concrete in bags or barrels of yard waste.
