The mission of the City of Newton Archives is to document the history of Newton by identifying, preserving, and making accessible the evidential records of town and city activities and the historically valuable information created by the municipal government. These records demonstrate the role of municipal government and the participation of the citizenry in the democratic system that is the foundation of American society.
The Archives serve government record creators and users, providing education and guidance on preservation and records management, and research services to the general public.
