Ladies and Gentlemen:

As we begin a new year and a new term of office, it is timely that I remind all City personnel of the correct use of the term ALDERMAN v. ALDERMEN. When referring to an individual Board member use the singular "ALDERMAN". When referring to more than one member or the entire Board collectively use the term "ALDERMEN".

Note: The use of the term "ALDERPERSON" is not proper.
